Where do I begin?

Things have been crazy the last few days. First of all, Jackson's little tooth is still barely peeking through and teething is getting frustrating for all of us. We are managing with a little Tylenol, teething tablets and gel. His birthday was rough so we did not get out until yesterday to get him a birthday gift. I took him to the toy store for the first time and he LOVED it. He was so excited as we walked up and down the aisles. We got him some toys (some for Christmas) but for his birthday he got this V-Tech (is that what is called?) cell phone he has in the picture. He loves to hold mine, especially when I am trying to talk on it.

More importantly, we had our 6 month doctor check-up this morning. Ugh! These shots do not get any easier. He seemed to take it a little easier. He just cried for a few seconds. It really helps that I nurse him immediately afterwards. Also, we got our height and weight. We are no longer a 100% baby. His weight was 21 pounds, 10 ounces (with a wet diaper) and the height is 27 3/4 inches. He is in the 95th percentile for weight and 87th percentile for height. We also got the go ahead for veggies. We are so excited!

So, there is a huge debate. What is the deal with the flu shots? Staying home, I see so many doctor shows on TV and they debate vaccines all the time now. I decided to get Jackson the H1N1. We have to go back for his third rota vaccine in a month and we may get the flu shot then. I just could not give him two vaccines for the flu at the same time he got his regular vaccines. That just seemed like too much. Russell got the regular flu vaccine and I think I may go get it. Hopefully having us vaccinated for the regular flu will reduce the chance of Jackson getting the regular flu. What a decision?!? I have heard so many controversial arguments about the vaccines. I still can't seem to make an informed decision.

The only other news here is the weather. The high today is 41 degrees and it is raining. It is snowing two counties away. I don't think we will get any snow and Jackson and I don't want any . . . at least until Russell makes it home!

Hang in there, Jackson! Once that tooth comes in, you'll be feeling much better!
