Thanksgiving break - thus far

So, I finally sit down to post about our trip thus far and my parents home computer is being so slow. Jackson's naps are too short these days and I don't have the patience to wait. So, I will try and post some pics tonight.

Our holiday break started last Wednesday when we headed to Dallas for the Thanksgiving Day football game between the Saints and the Cowboys. It couldn't have been a more exciting game and Jackson couldn't have been a better little boy. He did so well and loved the game. He can say "football" and he loves to cheer. He haves his hand in the air and says "go, go, go!" It is so darn cute. Russell was the only one in the group cheering for the Cowboys but he wasn't too disappointed that they lost. After all, the Saints are his second favorite team. Russell was a super sweet daddy and bought Annabelle a Cowboys outfit and socks and he got Jackson a Coboyws stuffed animal.

Mimi and Poppy had Jackson stay in there room so I got some good rest. I don't think Jackson would have come with us to our room, anyways. He is pretty crazy about his Mimi and Poppy and he just wanted to spend time with them.

We headed to Austin on Friday. The girls in one car and the guys in the other. Friday night, Mimi, Poppy, and Jackson went to dinner and Russell and I went to the Alamo for dinner and a movie. On Saturday, mom and I got to shop and we watched football in the afternoon. We also went to my favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner so I was a happy girl.

Yesterday, Russell had to head back to Lubbock. He has his big annual farm show this week. We were sad for him to go but we know he will be too busy to spend time with us. I think he really enjoys this show so hopefully his drive home wasn't too bad. Yesterday afternoon, Mimi, Poppy, Jackson, Uncle Chris and I all went to see Cirque Dreams Illuminations. I was really worried about how Jackson would act. I planned to spend my afternoon outside the theatre. He did so awesome - again! He sat in Poppy's lap the entire first act. He was pretty mesmerized by the music and lights. The second act, Mimi and Uncle Chris held him. He even clapped for certain parts in the second act. After the show, we went for Jackson's favorite food - ice cream.

This morning, we ran some errands and some how Jackson ended up with some new toys. Like I said, he is napping now. Mimi and I plan to give ourselves a little treat this afternoon. We are going for a new Micropeel treatment that they have here in Austin. I am excited - anything to make me feel better leading up to the dreaded 30th birthday!

So, I will try to post pics tonight. I even took the cutest videos of Jackson and Poppy laughing in the car on the way home from the theatre yesterday. We have lots more planned for the week so I need to post today so I don't have tons to post later!

Happy early Thanksgiving

I have not done a good job keeping the blog updated lately. Sorry! I have been super busy. Today was Jackson's last day of daycare. He starts a new daycare part-time in January so I have been trying to get ahead on my work schedule as well as get things together for the holidays. It isn't easy to get alot accomplished with an 18 month old. He likes his attention from mommy and daddy!

So, my to-do list has been a mile long but I have marked almost everything off in the last few weeks. Tonight I feel good but exhausted. We begin our Thanksgiving holiday in the morning so today was a mad dash to mark those last things off the list.

We will be celebrating the holiday here in Texas. We have some big plans but you'll have to wait and see the blog pics later to find out what we've been up to!

I will say that I am celebrating a very big birthday next week. Russell has a big meeting so Jackson and I will be staying at Mimi and Poppys so we both can get lots of TLC and R&R. Can't wait for that. After clearing my to-do list, I really need it.

I almost forgot, I am officially in my last trimester and I am going to the doctor every two weeks, now. Isn't that crazy! I had my diabetes test and I am clear. I have really craved sugar this pregnancy so I was a little worried. At my appointment yesterday, Annabelle and I got a good report. Russell and I also decided on a hospital so now we just need to set up a tour. Other than that, there's not much to report. Now that we are on a little holiday break, I will try to do much better posting pics. I don't want to let Jackson's fans down and I must say, our little guy is just getting cuter by the day!

Not much to report

Well, there is not much to report around here. Jackson went for his 18 month check-up on Friday. He is doing great and starting to say lots of words. He did get his flu shot which wasn't so fun and on Saturday he wasn't feeling to hot. I think a lingering cold hit it's peak. Thankfully, he is feeling much better today.

As for Annabelle, she will be here in less than 3 months! That seems so crazy to me. I went for a check-up last week, I take my diabetes test this week and another check-up the following week. I am already in the last trimester so I go for check-ups every 2 week. Insane! I am a little worried about the diabetes test because I crave sugar much more now than I did when I was pregnant with Jackson. We'll see.

Other than that, we are looking forward to the holidays. Jackson's last day at his daycare is next Tuesday. We have decided he will start a new daycare part-time in January and then he and Annabelle will go full time in May. It will be a crazy Spring for sure. We are super excited about the new daycare. It is a large church daycare and I have heard so many wonderful things about it.

I forgot to mention the highlight of our lazy weekend. We had Rick and Cy over for dinner on Friday night since Amanda was out-of-town. Jackson and Cy had the best time. I wish I would have taken pics sooner. These two pics were taken after they had their bath.

We hope everyone is having a great weekend and getting ready for the holidays. Can you believe several of our neighbors already have their lights up?!?

Roll TIGERS!

As the Tigers ran out onto the field, Jackson ran out of his room with his stuffed tiger. I should have known LSU would have a good day!

If you don't already know, LSU beat Alabama which has been one of the biggest wins for the Tigers in a long time. Jackson had fun watching the game. We would ask him what the Tiger says and he could roar (or maybe more of a growl). He also had fun jumping up and down at the end of the game and watching the crowd clapping and cheering. Needless to say, he went to bed early tonight. What a fun afternoon! Geaux Tigers!

Little Lumberjack

I think we had our first freeze in Lubbock last night, as least that is what was predicted. Nevertheless, it was super cold when we woke up so I had no choice but to bundle up the Boo for school. Here he is in his winter clothes. Doesn't he look like a little lumberjack? Such a little stud!

He also got an exciting gift this week. Russell got a new work phone so Jackson got the old phone. A while back I got a new laptop and he got the old one. Jackson loves the "real" laptops and phones. He knows the difference between the play ones and the "real" ones. Here he is showing us how to use his phone. Please ignore the clutter in the bathroom - mornings can be a little crazy at our house!
