Maggie in the snow

Maggie is hilarious pouncing through the snow. Her legs sink into the thick layer. I didn't think she would like it but she is quite curious.

9 month doctor visit and another snowstorm

This morning, we left for Jackson's 9 month doctor check-up and it was raining. At 10:45, these are some pictures I took at the house. It was amazing how fast this snowstorm came through. Russell picked Jackson and I up at the door at the doctor's office and snow was piled up so high on the windshield that Russell could barely see. All this happened within 90 minutes.
Anyways, the storm is just getting geared up so it looks like we will be at home for the next few days. Luckily, momma was on top of things and went to the grocery store yesterday for some snowed-in goodies!
As for the doctor appointment, let's just say that I am glad the snowstorm can take our mind off of it! Jackson did so good, as usual, and I am super happy daddy got to come to the appointment with us (thanks to the winter storm threat his appointment was cancelled). The bad part was the flu booster. The worst part was the blood draw to check for anemia and lead levels. The nurse had a really hard time hitting the vein and had to poke both arms. My mommy instincts were on overdrive and I got really frustrated. Fortunately, Russell was there so I walked out of the room and kept my mouth shut. I am sure the nurse was dong the best she could but mommy bear does NOT like someone hurting the baby bear!
For the good part, Jackson is growing like a champ. He is very long, in the 94th percentile, and he is in the 91st percentile for weight. So the stats are: 30 1/4 inches and 24 pounds and 2 ounces.
Maggie missed out on the Angel Fire snowstorms so she is getting to enjoy it now!

Our home. Snow was pretty on the slopes but I think it is even better when you are snuggled in your own home!

Hard to see, but Jackson is feeling alot better while he looks at the snow with his daddy!

Palo Duro

On our way back from Angel Fire, we stopped at the Palo Duro Canyon outside of Amarillo. It is the second largest canyon in North America (behind the Grand Canyon, of course). We saw turkeys, deer, and two huge Longhorns. Russell has some better pics on his camera that I will have to post later. For now, enjoy the view!

The Saints are going to the Superbowl!!!

The Saints are going to the Superbowl, the Saints are going to the Superbowl! Saints fans have NEVER been able to say those words. No matter what happens, these next two weeks should be alot of fun!

The Saints season makes me think of my Papa Cecil who passed away this past summer. He was truly the biggest Saints fan that I know. I told my mom at the beginning of the season that Papa Cecil wasn't missing out on all the fun, he actually had the best seat in the house.

Geaux Saints! Who Dat?

A little more Angel Fire

We had such a good time in Angel Fire, NM. We arrived last Sunday. We were supposed to come home on Friday but a snowstorm came through so we decided to stay another night. Angel Fire did not have snow since before Christmas but three snowstorms came through while we were there. The snow helped for great skiing (mostly for Russell)! I went skiing twice but stayed back with Cee and Jackson some, too. Russell skied for four days. We had such a good time. Russell loves snow sports so much, I know we will be back next year!

All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth

So, all Jackson wanted for Christmas was his two front teeth (yeah right!) but he did get them. Before Christmas his two front teeth broke through the gums but they weren't long enough to get them on camera until now. Russell was tickling Jackson yesterday so I thought it was a good time to snap a picture of those pearly whites! Russell and I laugh everytime we see them!
