First visit to Mimi and Poppy's house
I am sure most of you noticed that I was not that great at posting pics last week. Well, Russell had to fly to Nebraska for work. So, he took us to Austin to stay with my parents. We had a great time. As you can see from the pics, I became much more comfortable taking Jackson out of the house. We are very careful not to go places with crowds. We tried to go out during weekday mornings to places which may have a crowd.
In the first pic, Jackson is watching 24 with his Poppy. In the next pic, he is sitting with my mom while we got pedicures. In the third, he had a play date with his friends, Avery and Evan. In the fourth pic, he is with his Daddy on Lake Travis and in the last, he is with his daddy on the back porch at my parent's house. I must say, Jackson loves the outdoors. He is just like his daddy!

Celebrating Jackson's first month
Last night we went to dinner to celebrate Jackson's first month. Jackson and I meet Russell at the Country Club after he played a little golf. Russell showed him off to all his golf friends and everyone sitting around us at dinner. Here is a picture of us leaving dinner and here is a pic of Jackson in his pjs when we got home. He was playing with his daddy.
In the last few days, he seems to be growing so much. He is more alert and he smiles more. I feel like he recognizes me. And, last night, he went five hours between feedings! I actually woke him up because he has never gone that long! I guess his birthday dinner wore him out.

What a difference a year makes!
A year ago today, we created our blog. We were on vacation at South Padre Island. We lived in Victoria and had sold our house. Today, we have a new house in a different city, we have different jobs and, most importantly, a new addition to our family. What a difference a year makes!

There's something in the water!
Not to long ago, I posted about our friends, Rachel and Spencer, who are expecting a baby in September in Victoria, Texas. We recently learned that two more of our friends from Victoria are expecting as well. Brooke and Brian Hrach will be having a baby at the end of November and Stuart and Ann Killebrew will be expecting their bundle of joy around the end of December. There must be something in the water in Victoria!
I am also glad to report that the Hrachs have created a blog. Now, if we could just get the Killebrews on board! Congrats guys!

Lots of visitors
Jackson has had more visitors this week. On Tuesday, my Aunt Mona and Uncle Jack came to see him and yesterday my Grandma Barbara came for a visit. If you can imagine, I forgot to take pics on Tuesday! However, here are some pics of Jackson with his great grandmother.
Still working on the blurry pics. Russell says it is because we aren't using the flash on the camera. Ugh! I'll try to figure it out.

Back to the doctor's office
Yesterday, we had an appointment with the Lactation Consultant. Jackson has been feeding really well but I had a few questions. I figured we might as well take advantage of the lactation consultant that the doctor's office has. We are so glad we went. The consultant was great and answered all of our questions and then some. She was able to answer our questions on far more than just feeding. Here are pics of us on our way to the doctor, at the doctor in front of the aquarium, and on our way home.
In other health news, Jackson lost his umbilical cord on Monday. Russell has been waiting for it to fall off!

Maggie and Jackson
Since we found out we were pregnant everyone asked us how Maggie was going to handle having another baby in the house. Well, she is doing so well! Even better than we expected! She likes to be close to Jackson but she only smells him and watches him closely. It is really sweet. Of course, we are making sure to give her lots of attention, too. That really has helped the adjustment.

Jackson is one week old!
Wow, what a week! We have had such a wonderful week getting to know our Jackson! We are constantly learning new things about him and we have had alot of "firsts." Luckily, we are taking tons of pics so we can share his firsts with everyone. Jackson's first time in his bouncy seat.
Jackson's first attempt at sucking his thumb.
Jackson's first bath. On Saturday we had some terrible weather come through the Dallas area. As luck would have it, the power went out. We still attempted to give Jackson his first bath. He cried . . . and peed . . . and pooped but it's okay. We'll try again in a few days and maybe things will go a little smoother!
