Mommy's first day back at work
Monday was my first day back at work (at least for two weeks). I was dreading that day for a long time but I was absolutely fine. I knew Jackson was at home and in good hands with his Mimi and Poppy. I think it also is good for me to get our for a while. I have come home everyday during lunch to see my little guy and he is doing so well.

Moving on!
Well, on Sunday we got some good news. We had two offers on the house. So, we sold the house in three weeks and it sold for $1000 above the asking price. What a relief! It was exhausting having to keep the house perfect and leaving with the baby and Maggie every time someone wanted to look. The only problem is that we must be out by August 20th. Oh well, I'd rather be a buyer than a seller! I'm sure we'll find a house.

BIG NEWS!
Over the summer, Russell was offered a job promotion! We are so proud of him. With his new job, we will be moving to Lubbock, Texas. His new job will mean that he will travel much shorter distances. That means more time at home with the little man.
As for me, I officially told my boss yesterday that I am leaving. I am bummed to be leaving such a great job. But, I am thrilled to be able to spend more time with Jackson. The plan is for me to stay home with him. For now, I am planning to stay with him until he is about 1 year old. Jackson is somewhat high maintenance (I wonder where he gets it). So, I have realized that no one can take care of him like his mommy!
We are very lucky to have such great parents. My mom and dad are coming to take care of Jackson next week and Russell's mom will be here the week after that. They are going to take care of Jackson so that I can go back to work for two weeks. I am really excited to get back to work even if it is only for two weeks.
Well, that's the news for now. As you can imagine, it has been a crazy summer!

Catching up with friends and family
Last week, when we were in Monroe, Jackson got to hang out with family and friends. On Friday, I was exhausted. So, I went to the Kelly's house for some R & R. Katie watched Jackson while I got a nap. The second photo is Jackson with his cousin, Anna. She is almost 8 months old and look he is bigger! Anna loved Jackson. She tried to play with him every chance she got! I know when Jackson gets a little older they will have great fun together!

In Loving Memory
Early this morning, my grandfather passed away. Jackson and I have been in Louisiana all week with my mom. We are lucky to have spent his last few days with him. He was very sick and he slept most of the time but one of the few times he woke up, he recognized Jackson and I. He was so happy to see Jackson. He had a huge smile on his face.

Fourth of July parade
On Friday, our neighborhood had an early Fourth of July parade for the kiddos. Everyone was supposed to decorate their bikes, wagons or dogs. When we saw the parade, we realized Jackson was a little too young to be a particpant but Russell, Maggie, and I watched. After the parade, everyone congregated at the pool for a BBQ but we headed back to the house. Afterall, the high was 100 degrees. As you can see, Jackson slept through the parade but he did dress in his red, white, and blue!

2 month doctor visit
Yesterday our sweet boy had his two month doctor visit. He had to get three vaccines and he was a trooper. I had been stressing out about the shots for over a week and it was not that bad.
As for the stats . . . our "little" man is in the 100th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height. The doctor was not concerned about his percentages but she does think he is using me as a human pacifier. What can I say, he is a mama's boy! His official weight is 15.65 pounds!
