Well, it's only taken me a month to post these pics! Russell and I went to Santa Fe for a long LAbor Day weekend to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We got to Santa Fe early and went downtown to shop (yeah!) and sightsee. We headed to our hotel (Buffalo Thunder Resort) where we went to the pool and got some R&R. We went to downtown Santa Fe for dinner. We had lots of yummy food on the trip and we ate outside for most of our meals. I love eating outside, if possible. After dinner, I was exhausted so I went to bed and Russell headed to the casino. He said he had a great time. The first full day, we headed to Taos. We went on a hike, had lunch, did some more shopping, and checked out the 2nd largest suspension bridge in the US. On the way back, I made Russell stop at one of the many wineries. I think he didn't want me to be bored since I couldn't partake but they did have chocolates and a beautiful view. We got back to the resort and checked out the scores of football games since it was the first weekend of college football. We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Russell said it was the best Mexican he had ever eaten. We got to eat outside again and I am always up for Mexican so I was a happy girl! The next day, we went back downtown because they were having a festival. They had lots of restaurants on the square so we found a pizzeria where we could eat on the patio (of course). We did a little more shopping and headed back to the resort for Russell's main event, golfing. We played 18 holes. When I realized Russell signed us up for 18, he reminded me that I played 18 holes the day before Jackson was born. Really??? I remember, it's true. What was I thinking? Nevertheless, I wanted to play all 18 because I knew it would make him happy. He made sure I was happy before we went by getting me a giant chocolate chip cookie from the bakery to carry along. After golf, we got dressed up for dinner at one of the hotel restaurants. We were actually at the resort for their 2nd anniversary so they were having a firework display (as well as daily cake, cupcakes, and goodies to celebrate - always good with a pregnant gal). Of course, I had made our reservation for the patio which couldn't have been more perfect. Just as we were finishing up dinner, the fireworks began. It was pretty neat and it felt just perfect for our anniversary celebration. It was an amazing trip (except the fact that we missed our little man). Thanks again to Mimi and Poppy for taking such good care of Jackson.
