PJ Day

A few weeks ago, Jackson had Pajama Day in his class. Not the best pics but I tried to capture a memory before they left for school.

Squeaky Shoes

I ordered Jackson some squeaky shoes and they came in over the weekend. He tried them on and loved them even though they are at lease a size too big. Despite Daddy's tolerance level, he stomped around and around. I finally put them away when he went to sleep, hoping that he would forget about them. This morning, I made a crucial mistake. I put Annabelle's squeaky shoes on her. Last time she wore them she wasn't walking much so I didn't notice the squeak. Well, this morning she took off and that is when Jackson started yelling for his squeaky shoes. Luckily, there is a way to take out the squeakers. Unfortunatly, I didn't have time to figure it out before taking him to school!

Jackson's homecoming

Tuesday our baby for boy came home from his first overnight visit away. We had a surprise him. He had a big boy bed. We kept the same jungle theme.

On Tuesday, we had beautiful weather so we had dinner outside and the kids got to play. It has been a long time since they have gotten to play with the outside toys so they were very excited.

As for the big boy bed, things are going well. We are trying to establish a routine. Last night, I read him books for about 30 minutes, tucked him in tight, sang a song to him and turned off the light. He stayed in the bed all night. Fingers crossed we can do that again tonight!

Last weekend

Last weekend, Russell got to experience being the only male in the house. Jackson flew back to Austin with Mimi and Poppy last Thursday for a weekend getaway. He didn't get home until Tuesday afternoon. We missed Boo terribly. We tried to stay busy while he was gone. We gave Annabelle lots of attention.

We planned a surprise for Jackson's homecoming - a BIG BOY BED. We wanted to put this off as long as possible but he slept in a big bed in Ruidoso and at the grandparents to it seemed like it might be an easy transition. Here is Annabelle helping daddy. She loved holding all the tools.

Miss Priss loves a push toy especially the stroller Cy gave her for her birthday.

Maggie got some attention while Jackson was gone, too. She got a haircut on Monday. When Annabelle got home from school I snapped this pic. Both my girls in matching pink bows. Annabelle was looking a bit of a mess. It was the first day she came home from school still wearing her bow. Well, sort of!

Tuesday morning, Annabelle grabbed my purse and toddled to the front door before school as if she knew exactly where we were going. She is so smart . . . and so adorable!

Ruidoso, NM

Last week we went to Ruidoso. We left a snowstorm in Lubbock on Sunday morning to get to the mountains. Mimi and Poppy came with us. The extra help was so nice and we had a very relaxing trip. We had really nice weather. It snowed most of Valentine's Day but the other days we really nice and not too cold. On one of the warmer days, our friends came down the mountain to visit. I wonder if these are the same deer we saw last time.

Tubing

Russell and Poppy took Jackson tubing twice while we were in NM. At first, they said he was scared but he quickly got over his fears. He loved it!

Valentine's Day in Ruidoso

We celebrated Valentine's Day while we were in Ruidoso. The kids got lots of Valentines. For dinner we went to our favorite Ruidoso Mexican restaurant. We heard about this place before our last trip so we went back in October. It didn't disappoint and neither did the kids. They were so good at dinner. While we were at dinner the snow started pouring outside. What a cozy way to spend Valentine's Day!

Picnic lunch

While Daddy and Poppy were out skiing, we set Jackson and Annabelle up on the balcony for a picnic lunch in the sunshine.
